Five men on Tuesday showed up in a Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Lagos State over supposed burglary of extraordinary spirits and wine worth N20 million, having a place with their boss. The police charged Micheal Akor, 28, James Akor, 23, Lawrence Naanban, 30, Isaac Zafaniah, 20, and Isaac Dauda, 20, with connivance and burglary.
The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye, told the court that the respondents submitted the offense at some point in March, at No. 10, Emma Abimbola Cole st., Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. She affirmed that the litigants took a few containers of Hennessy XO, Moët and Chandon champagne, Jameson wine and Baileys, worth N20 million. Olaluwoye told the court that the respondents, being workers of the organization; Party Drinks LTthat D, during the lockdown, took the beverages. She said that the litigants were caught on camera.
The offense, she stated, negated the arrangements of areas 411 and 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). Segment 287 (7) specifies a seven-year prison term for taking from one’s boss, while 411 the offense of scheme attracs two years’ detainment for sentenced guilty parties. The litigants, nonetheless, argued not liable to the charge. Justice L.Y. Balogun conceded the litigants to bail in the whole of N500,000 each with two guarantees in like entirety. Balogun requested that the guarantees must be beneficially utilized and ought to give proof of three years’ assessment installment to the Lagos State Government. She dismissed the case until Sept. 22 for notice. (NAN).
The law court has allegedly summoned 5 men for the issue of theft in the country of nigeria, at the moment the 5 men are in custody and have not been issued any bail and will remain in custody this ending of this month.
